Diazinon-based insecticide paint additives set the standard for insect control for decades. However, in 2000, the US EPA removed diazinon-containing products from the market due to health and safety issues. In 2002, the US EPA granted the "first-ever" registration for an interior and exterior insecticide paint additive called Bug Juice.
Tests resulted in 100% mortality rate of insects (over 2000 participants used) after 24-48 hours.
